MMI SOFTWARE UPDATE TO 4610. 06 A8 has no back up camera, no AMI, these options don’t exist until 07 A8 for camera and 08 A8 for AMI. In order for these things to work, the MMI system must be updated to the latest software. For adding AMI, we only need 3360 and for camera, my Q7 has 4140. The latest CD update out there are up to 4610.
Step 5. Insert your SD card into your car's SD slot and make your way to the "Engineering" section of the MMI as described above. You will only find map updates on there if you still had a license to which you won't as the car is over 3 years old. Audi don't like updating the MMI system, as it's their view if it's not broken then they won't fix it! Even if they did update the car then they would charge between 1-2 hours labour.
